30 May May 2019 Team of the Month: Hickory Hornets Boys Track and Field Team
Gilbert’s would like to recognize and congratulate the Hickory Hornets Boys Track & Field team on being the winner of Gilbert’s Risk Solutions Mercer County Team of the Month!
The photo above showcases the Hickory High boys track and field team posing with the PIAA Class 2A championship trophy after capturing the team title on Saturday at the PIAA Track & Field Championships at Shippensburg.
Senior standout Grundy, who won gold in the discus and shot put said, “It feels pretty awesome being able to contribute to the team that much… It’s just a great feeling, overall.”
The PIAA Class 2A championship allowed Hickory to harvest the 2nd boys’ Class AA crown.
Tom Hale, a coach for Hickory’s boys Track and Field team said, “We’re excited, and I couldn’t be happier for the kids and how hard they worked this year, and the amount of time the coaches and everybody has put in. Couldn’t be prouder.”
Congratulations to the Boys Hickory Hornets Team for a great season and for winning the state title!
