August’s Casual For a Cause: Community Library of the Shenango Valley

Every month, the Gilbert’s team has the honor of nominating a local organization to be the recipient for Casual for a Cause. Working as a team, every member of the office has the opportunity to donate $5 in exchange for one jeans day or $25 to receive a whole month of jeans days.

All money raised directly benefits the chosen organization. Employees also benefit from giving back to local organizations that do so much for our community.

The Gilbert’s team and its sister company kicked off August by raising a total of $105 in casual day donations for the Community Library of the Shenango Valley.

The Sharon Free Public Library opened in 1923. There were roughly 2,000 new registrations in the first year. The library continues to be a valuable resource for the community. In 2007, the library became a non-profit. The cities that fund the library are Sharon, Hermitage, and Farrell.

The mission of the library is to: “enhance the lives of people of all ages and backgrounds by providing outstanding materials, programs, and technology in a safe inviting environment.”
