Staying informed about the latest trends and demands of the Commercial Business Insurance Industry is essential. Here’s a summary of the current state of the insurance market for Q2 2026:
There was an average decrease in premiums across all account sizes of 2.0%; this follows a decrease in premiums across all account sized in Q1 for the first time since 2017.
Notable Lines of Business and Their Premium Trends
Ten lines of business saw a decrease in premiums, one more than in the previous quarter: business interruption, commercial property, construction risks, cyber, D&O, employment practices, flood, marine, terrorism, and workers compensation. Across all lines, there was an average decrease of 0.3%.
Commercial Property: For the second consecutive quarter, commercial property saw the largest average decrease out of all of the lines of business, with a 6.3% decrease.
Cyber: Averaged a 3.2% decrease, along with workers’ compensation.
Commercial Umbrella: Premiums rose for the 25th consecutive quarter, at an average of 5.3%, the largest increase out of all lines.
